Hey y'all!  It's Anne with a real good question...

Do you think that by being uncoordinated, a person would actually burn more calories?

For example, when I do Zumba (in the privacy of my own home) I'm always way off the mark.  It's all I can do sometimes to just keep up to tempo.  They go right, I go left.... I just get the steps down with my feet and they say, "Now add the arms!" and I start gyrating all over the place.  I really think that I work harder than someone like Paula Abdul would have to.

My husband is threatening to take us on a little vacay this spring, so I now have extra motivation for losing more poundage.  I don't want to be mistaken for Shamu.    "Look honey, I see a beached whale!"  "No Dear, that's that's just some tourist from Wisconsin."

Thank you, good night!

  1. I definitely think that being uncoordinated makes a difference in the calorie burning department! I'm gonna take a zumba class this spring. I hear it's pretty fun. Where are you thinking of going on the vacation?

  2. FL - somewhere on the gulf coast.

  3. I'm jumping on the Zumba wagon, too. My sister Dana takes the class through Community Ed. at Proctor High School. I can't wait. I agree that stuff like Zumba (or any workout video e.g., Tae Bo) are hard to follow until you've done it dozens of times. I'm always going the opposite direction or 5 beats behind. Enjoy the flailing!

  4. She is a very very brave girl! I would never do Zumba in public. Not for all the sticks of butter in the world.
